Star warz.

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 19, 2009, 5:03 AM
Hi Journal.
Just got back last night from Star Wars In Concert, it was good ^ ^.
Though my dad sorta took the long way there :/ . He doesn't really drive long distances , let alone to Baltimore for anything other than buisness, usually. And there was traffic. So going to and coming from took four hours. I didn't come home till midnight. I went to bed right away, but got up at 6:30 cause I thought I went in at 8:30 today. I don't, lol its not till 9:30, so i lost sleep for nothing ^ ^;.
It was hard to get yesterday off, cause EVelin was gonna have me work then, too, but I wouldn't have been able to get off till six, and we never would have made it in time.
The orchestra and choir sounded great, and there's some really great pieces of music in the star wars movies. I loved the duel of the fates live, and it came with lots of video of the movies. Anthony Daniels narrorated parts of the story in between the pieces. I enjoyed the actual show, just not the trips lol. Cause I dumbly also chose not to take my ipod. ^ ^;;
It seemed almost wrong that the previous part of yesterday, before the concert and the night before, I was watching Star Trek lol. I loooove this movie. I've been a fan of the shows and older films, and I know usually the Star Trek fans and Star Wars fans are considered enemies lol. But I like both, and don't see why you can't be a fan of both.
But in the last few years, i've been leaning a bit more towards Star Trek, cause i feel that franchise has fared better than Star Wars. There's been alot of good creative input on Star Trek. Star Wars has been controlled entirely by George Lucas, who has big ideas, but isn't really a polished writer ^ ^;;.
There was alot that could have been better about the next gen starwars films, but he gave very little artistic freedom on them. Everything had to be by his approval, and he had a very set , limited vison on how he wanted every aspect of the films to go. So they suffered. Oh, the action was spectacular and rad lol. I loved that. But the writing and some of the events were awkward. There have been alot of independant star wars fiction books out. Timothy Zahn and a few other really good authors could have been called in to help out, but he wouldn't do that >_O. Its one thing to have absolute control if you reallly are that brilliant, but Lucas isn't really all that lol. And I know I might get some people fighting with me, but this is what i feel. If he loved his story, he would have known when to share the love a little, get some outside input. Star Trek, doesn't have this problem and never really did. Roddenberry was a bit more generous with who he worked with it seemed lol. And though the movies were kinda dying for awhile with the later next gen movies, and some of the lame spin off shows, this new one pwns. But I knew it would be in good hands lol. I'm really optimistic about how it's gonna go from here.
I don't wanna go to work, cause of tired juju , but at least Dr.M is gonna bring his copy of the movie in, lol so I'll get to watch it agaain. It has that power for me to never get tired of it.
Except for yesterday, which I still didn't really have as a day off, I work all week. So no pictures I'm afraaid ^ ^;;
I took my exam last saturday and I'll know my score and recieve an update on my official certification (or maybe get it) in 1-2 weeks. All I know right now is a general pass/fail thing, and I passed. lol Evelin and Jess take it this saturday, which means I work with Lucy on Saturday. But I am glad that is all over wtih.
I can't wait for Sundaayy..<3
bye bye.
